    I had less than a day to visit the city and personal meetings in the afternoon, so Mr. Singh accommodated my needs with a thorough private tour of the Mehrangarh fort including the city's famous miniature paintings with ground precious stones and a turban dressing demonstration, plus some shopping (textiles, bronze statues, and spices) in very good and affordable places. And in the meantime, sharing a lot of interesting facts on Indian culture during displacement times. Top!

    We did the tour with Mr Vikram in August. He was very knowledgeable about the fort and its history, making him a great guide for the area. We were also able to see a local fabric seller and try some delicious local food. All round an excellent tour.

    Today we had a gorgeous morning visit in Jodhpur with Mr. Vikram Singh Kelawa. He is very well knowledge of the history of the Blue City. He has brought us to many interesting places. A top vote for him.

    Umaid Bhawan Museum

    The Umaid Bhawan Palace is housed neatly beside the royal blue city of Jodhpur. It is a n architectural marvel, truly an edifice and is almost 75 years old. The foundation was laid in 1928 and construction of the palace was completed in 1943 under the guidance of chief architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya and Sir S.S. Jacob. The erection of the palace was done under the aegis H.V. Lanchester. The foundation’s ground was crushed by Maharaja Umaid Singh himself upon whom the palace is named after all.
