    This trip give us a new experience in the island , we went for kayaking during the sun set in stone town thanks kamal destination tours for organizing the tour for us , highly recommend this trip

    Kayaking is not recommended. This takes place at a port staff with very many container ships at sea. We were sent out to sea alone without life jackets in good waves. Due to the many ships, the guide no longer had us in view (he was waiting on the beach). It wasn't a nice view either.

    We originally were going to do a kayak tour around Stone town, but the harbor was very crowded with boats coming and going, so we opted for going to Nakupenda beach/sandbar instead. The meeting place was really hard to find. It took a while to find guides, have them bring the kayaks, and it was about 20-30 minutes out to the sand bar. We went in late afternoon, cool, breezy and cloudy, looked like rain. Water was choppy. We had clear kayaks but couldn’t really see anything, the bottom of the kayaks were pretty opaque. Even so, not a very interesting place to kayak. We were out paddling around for about an hour and a half, if that. Guide and boat operator were nice. Luckily the cost was pretty cheap, only $25 /person.
