Lecce, Lecce Baroque private tour with small tasting

My parents and I had the pleasure of exploring Lecce with Fabio as our guide, and it was simply fantastic! Fabio's knowledge of the city's history was impressive, and his sense of humor kept us engaged throughout the tour. He made the experience both informative and enjoyable. This is an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. We spent 4 hours with him. Told us a story about everything we saw. He is a walking encyclopedia. I would highly recommend him for the Puglia area.

Our group of 7 people spent 2 weeks in Puglia, Campania and Basiicata in June, 2023. This review is long overdue, as I should have written it the minute I got back to the US. There aren't enough exemplary adjectives in existence to describe our wonderful trip and the FABULOUS Fabio. I don't even know where to begin to describe the personal touches he introduced into our trip, in addition to his experience and skill as a tour guide both within his hometown of Lecce and in the rest of the cities where we travelled, including Benevento, Matera, Alberobello, Ostuni, Locorotondo, and Polignano a Mare. We visited masserias, sat outside in an alley at an Irish pub (yes, they are wildly popular in Italy) and we treated to folk music that happened to include a musician who is Fabio's brother. He shared favorite places to eat (the sublime pizza at Il Pizzicotto that I'm still dreaming about) and unusual, offbeat places to visit (Plazzo Tamborino Cezzi and its charming owner). Obviously, I could go on and on. I'll conclude by saying these things: when one of our party became ill, he took charge and went to the hospital with her; as a surprise, he took a photo of our group and had a puzzle made of it because he heard us talking about liking puzzles; and on the last day, he served prosecco and shared a powerpoint he made for us, including jokes, funny pictures, misadventures, etc. Fabio is a STAR. And let me say, we are seasoned travellers in Italy, having been all over the country and very familiar with the customs and regional cusine. Book a tour with Fabio -- you will be pleased beyond your expectations.

Our guide Fabio was excellent and very detailed in his tour. He was passionate about Lecce and time was not a factor and he made sure he showed us around the important landmarks with lots of conversations

Fabio was a wonderful tour guide for my husband and I in Lecce - very knowledgeable about the history of not just Lecce, but other regions in Italy as well (he's an archeologist!), and just a joy to be around. He answered all our questions and was sweet enough to give us a handful of restaurant recommendations. Would highly recommend.
