    Went out on the rib hoping to see some animals. We were lucky to come across a pod of pilot whales. Great fun. The crew were fantastic and passionate about the experience. They were knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and great fun. Strongly recommend the rib.

    Organised booking staff,wonderful smiley crew ,helpful and of course they know what they are doing. We were not out of Of the marina long when the spotter found dolphins .unfortunately no whales today but this did not detract from a great 3hours .it was a superb trip highly recommended. The boat was also immaculately clean .

    We saw 3 different types of dolphins and a turtle. The guides were very passionate and could clearly see how much they cared about the animals and the cleanliness of the sea. Brilliant trip, would recommend

    Brilliant experience. Florina is a knowledgeable and experienced guide and her genuine interest in, and love for, the marine wildlife shines through. The trips are respectful of the wildlife and full of information. Loved it. Thank you!

    The high speed rib guarantees a relatively small group compared to the catamarans and enables you to move quickly towards a sighting. You'd be unlucky not to see something but today we were privileged to see a group of pilot whales, a Blainville beaked whale, a loggerhead turtle, and one other whale. The guides bring expert knowledge but it was really special to hear Floriana's excitement at seeing the beaked whale socialising with the group of pilots, something she had never seen before in ten years of leading these tours. On these trips you don't just experience, you learn too, and there's a real and repeated concern that we are visitors to the animals' environment and we need to treat them with care.

    What to expect

    Join us for an ocean adventure as we head offshore exploring for whales, dolphins, sea turtles and oceanic birds in their natural environment. Completely rebuilt in 2023 the Sea Safari is powered by two brand new 250hp engines, so you can expect to cover a greater distance than any other boat in Funchal. Double cushioned seats ensure a comfortable adventure with amazing 360° views while you enjoy the best opportunity to see marine wildlife. Our team of spotters on land use powerful binoculars to find the dolphins & whales and then sends the boat directly to them. The boat sits low on the water so you feel very close to the whales and dolphins, but remember, it is wildlife, and the primary goal is to be respectful of their habitat. Listen to informative commentary about the cetaceans of Madeira, as your captain and marine biologist guide make sure you have a great time whilst learning about the marine wildlife, marine environment and ecosystem. This trip is dedicated to encountering whales, dolphins, sea turtles and oceanic birds. We love to share these marine wildlife adventures and our observations with you while we explore offshore Madeira and its amazing biodiversity.
