    From south Florida, I decided to plan a trip through Newport, RI and Cape Cod, MA. After some digging I discovered Martha's Vineyard was hosting a Jaws 50th anniversary celebration (for the life of me, for 50+ years I believed Jaws was filmed somewhere off Long Island, NY). I would love to have seen the celebs and displays, but I hate thick crowds and booked the visit there a week before the festivities. It was a perfect idea: no traffic, plenty of ferry space, no crowds, and an easy booking on the Jaws tour with DeeDee of HomeGrown Tours. We were stoked! The booking of the tour was done a month in advance of our visit; in fact, DeeDee contacted me to verify all of my info, then later emailed an itinerary with helpful tips to navigate the island. Later, I called HomeGrown to figure out the best way to use the ferry system; DeeDee had all the answers. Tuesday, June 14th arrives, and my family and I are anxiously waiting at the ferry terminal. I'm looking around and around, and ring! DeeDee on the line, "Is that you standing there across the street?" I said, "Hell, yeah!" (hint, hint: carefully read the itinerary). So, off we go! We're the last ones on board, and holy smokes! Jeffrey Voorhees (Alex Kintner, boy on the raft) is touring us along with another very Jaws-knowledgable guide!!! Forget it! I regressed to age 7, listening to their many stories about the film, other actors, the community's involvement, and stuff you will never find online, in print, or in interviews. We visited filmed location after location, each with its own back story and impact to the community. Sincerely, we were fully immersed in Jaws' world. I truly, truly thank DeeDee, Jeffrey Voorhees, the 2nd guide, Martha's Vineyard, and Jaws for a terrific experience. One question though, "“Do you know if there’s a good restaurant or hotel on the island?”

    We were very lucky and made 5(!) stops on the way. Very interesting locations and farm "Morning glory " was one of my favorite; it is very colorful place.

    Stan was OUTSTANDING. He was knowledgeable and personable. He was friendly and consistent. We were LUCKY to have him as our tour leader. The day started out frustrating. We paid for a 1pm tour and waited in the heat till 1pm. No sign of the bus. I called and I texted. I immediately got a call back to say the 1pm had been cancelled. The immediate call back was a good thing. However, we built our day around 1pm and it would have been nice if someone had called us to alert us to the time change. That was frustrating. However, once Stan came, we felt welcomed and taken care of. We would have given the experience a lower rating had we not had such a good experienc with Stan. Furthermore, had the tour started at the time we paid for, or if someone had called us BEFORE we reached out, we would have given a 5 rating. Stan deserves it, however our whole experience was considered in this review.

    I well spent 3 hour tour of Martha Vineyard! The tour guide and other staff were awesome. Very accommodating of our last minute change changes and the tour itself was fun, informative and relaxing. We definitely recommend this tour to our friends!
