This tour is definitely a scam. The entire tour was terrible. The “Pink Sea” is hardly ever Pink, and I went when it is likely to be pink. Galerazamba is definitely not worth visiting: nothing worth seeing there. See photos below of what I got of the “Pink Sea” (It is in no way Pink or exciting). A complete waste of time visiting
Next, let’s talk about the mud volcano, which was the worst part of the tour. The Mud volcano is super packed and confined, so much that you feel claustrophobic in it. See photos below. You can barely move, and they allow too many people within this small space. I truly hated the experience.
At the end, all the people from the village hogged me for tips. I was forced to tip, and the tour guide was really of no help in getting them to leave me alone. I genuinely felt afraid for my safety when they implied I “did not tip enough”. This tour is a complete waste of time, and in no way worth US$60. A rip off and the worst tour I have taken in my life. Look how crammed the volcano is…

The transportation part was disappointing. Took a bunch of unnecessary stops to get to volcano. The mud experience was good just a little aggressive in the tipping hassle. The lunch was delicious. The communication wasn’t the best but overall it was good for the amount paid.

First off our original scheduled tour was canceled without notice by this company. After waiting 2 hours from our original "pickup time", we had to contact the tour multiple times to get information. We reluctantly rescheduled for the following day, which interrupted our plans and when we got to the mountain it was literally a bunch of money-hungry people. While I understand that they depend on the tourism, one literally held our phones hostage and another chased us down for her tip after the river bath. The lunch spot was filled with flies and overall I wished we had just requested a refund. Maybe it would be a different experience with a different tour company but I will not recommend.

My experience with this company was simply amazing. From my first conversation with Dennis he was extremely helpful and gave me all the information needed to book excursions for myself and my friends who were visiting Colombia for a week. He helped me with excursions, airport transfers and also gave me advice on just about everything. All our guides were great but special shout-out to Juan who was nothing short of amazing and ensured we had a great time. Don’t hesitate to book with J and T Colombia. You won’t regret it !!!

Our experience was very nice. We were given everything as planned and promised. Our guide was very friendly. Lunch was delicious. It would have been nice to know to carry water shoes. Walking barefoot was a little difficult. There are no showers so carry clothes that are not your best. Great experience overall.

Volcán de Lodo El Totumo is an active mud volcano located near sea level in northern Colombia in the municipality of Santa Catalina. A local tourist destination, popular for its alleged healing mud bath, it receives most of its visitors from nearby Cartagena. Along with this, it is the smallest volcano in the country. The mound has a prominence of about 15 m (49 ft) and it is accessible via a staircase that leads to the crater, which can accommodate about 10 to 15 people at a time; there, tourists bathe in the dense, warm mud and have the option of receiving personal massages from the attendants.
