    This olive oil and bread-making experience was everything we could have wished for and more. It was incredibly enjoyable, informative, and truly magical. The ladies at the olive oil shop were so friendly and full of great energy. Our fantastic host shared one of her family’s cherished bread-making secrets—something we’ll remember forever. The food and lunch were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting. 10/10!

    The baking class is an amazing experience. You get a tour of the museum (with some fun surprises), make an olive bread, taste some olive oil cake, get an amazing lunch (with lots of extra’s) and will taste the best ice cream of your life! Caterina is an amazing host. She is funny, smart and very kind. You absolutely CANNOT miss this experience when you come to Naxos!

    Come hungry! There is plenty of food served, so make sure you don’t have breakfast or lunch before. This tour is excellent, with a short educational tour through the museum to start- it’s followed up with a hands on tutorial on how to make olive bread; you move into an olive oil tasting, followed by a delicious lunch of local food (including your bread). Caterina will answer any of your questions and was an incredible guide as well as wealth of information on Naxos life. Cannot recommend this experience enough.

    Katerina is a joy to spend a few hours with! First learn the olive oil making process in the little museum and hear family stories of the harvest. Then out in the shaded garden she takes you back in time with her grandmother’s simple and delicious bread baking recipe. Everyone gets to bake their own loaf! While the bread is in the oven learn about the different qualities and varieties of olives and olive oil with a tasting. Next we were treated to a fresh, delicious and very filling lunch including amazing Greek salad with fresh herbs, our warm baked bread with spreads and olive oils, an outstanding traditional cheese pie with tomatoes (like quiche) and ended with homemade olive oil ice cream! Beautiful setting surrounded by olive trees, views of the fields and mountains, wonderful people, we didn’t want to leave! You have the option to purchase olive oils and more in the museum gift shop. Thank you Katerina for sharing your family stories and creating this anuth Naxos experience, it’s been the highlight of our family’s trip! 5 stars!!

    What to expect

    Hi, I’m Katerina! Born and raised here on Naxos, and for the past five years I’ve been sharing my island through olive oil, food, and simple everyday traditions. In my brandnew workshop in the heart of Naxos Town, I host small, cozy groups for a tasting and baking experience that feels warm, relaxed, and genuinely local. We begin with a friendly introduction to extra virgin olive oil. What makes an oil truly “extra virgin”? How do you recognise real aromas and flavors? Can we cook with it? Together we explore these questions while tasting different Naxian oils, learning easy techniques, and discovering how locals pair olive oil with herbs and food. Then we dive into baking. We prepare a traditional bread using a family recipe that has passed from my great-grandmother to my grandmother to me. It’s simple and full of the smells and memories I grew up with. With small groups, everything feels personal. More like spending time with a local than following a big class. By the end, you’ll have tasted Naxos in the most authentic way! Join me in the center of Naxos Town and experience traditional Naxian flavors with real expertise, heart, and a touch of fun.

    Hi, I’m Katerina! I was born and raised here on Naxos, and I love sharing my island through food and simple traditions. This experience is all about tasting, baking, and having fun together. We’ll start with an olive oil tasting, where I’ll show you how to recognize the flavors and aromas of different Naxian oils. How we tell the difference between an extra virgin olive oil and a regular one? We will find out together. It’s relaxed, interactive, and perfect even if you’ve never done a tasting before. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves and bake some delicious and easy olive bread using my grandmother’s recipe — something I grew up with and still make at home today. You’ll get hands-on, learn the steps, and of course, enjoy the smell of freshly baked bread. I keep my groups small so the atmosphere feels personal and friendly, more like cooking with a local friend than joining a big tour. By the end, you’ll have tasted Naxos in the most authentic way — through its olive oil, bread, and stories.
