What to expect
after breakfast in Hotel in Huaraz, pick up from your Hostel and Transfer to the trailhead of Canrey Chico (3350m) which is about 30km south of Huaraz. At this point we will meet the donkey drivers and donkeys’ horses, upload our trekking equipment and start hiking along the Rio Negro valley to east side direction to east and white mountains. As we go up the valley the nicest landscapes we find to appreciate, gradually ascent to the campsite Sacracancha 5-6 hrs set up the tents and overnight at around 4090 masl.
Andean breakfast at camp site and start hiking for a pasture area of highlands, then in a few hours, hike-up to the highest point of the trail at Punta Yanashallash 4800m (5-6 hrs) and then walk down along the zig-zag trail stone paved of Pre-Inca Trail, conserved in its natural position as the Pre-Incas build this trail with stones and considered as main trail the entrance to the sacred capital Chavin, after to enjoy this wonderful trek arrive to the campsite at Shongo 4088m diner and overnight.
sunrise in a wonderful campsite the Trek starts after the energetic breakfast and passes through several small Quechua villages before arriving at Chavin de Huantar 3090m. arriving around midday to Chavin immediately visit the huge chavin pre-inca ruins complex with inside tour guides and the museum that is located a little outside of Chavin to north side, after this walk for a restaurant and have lunch in Chavin, You can spend the night in a basic hotel in Chavin or return to Huaraz late in the afternoon. You may agree with the travel accompany at time of booking, return to Huaraz arriving around 7pm.
