What to expect
Ahu Vaihu
Located in Hanga Te'e Bay, this archaeological site shows fallen moai in their pukao (stone hats), offering a striking picture of the collapse of ancient Rapauan society. It is a place that invites you to reflect on the history and mysteries of the island.
Ahu Akahanga
Known as one of the possible burial sites of founding King Hotu Matu’a, this complex preserves ceremonial platforms with torn down moai and remains of old Rapauan dwellings, showing what daily life was like alongside spirituality.
Rano Raraku
The sacred quarry where most of the island's moai were born. Dozens of statues still lie on its slopes in different stages of construction, some buried up to their necks, creating a unique landscape in the world. It is considered to be the heart of Rapanui art.
Ahu Tongariki
The largest ceremonial altar on the island, with 15 majestic moai rising in front of the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the most iconic places in Rapa Nui and perfect setting to feel the greatness and mystery of this ancient culture.
Ahu Te Pito Kura
Here is the largest moai ever transported and erected on the island, more than 10 meters high. Next to it is the famous spherical stone called the “Neckline of the World”, which is attributed special magnetic energies.
Ahu Nau Nau
A restored ahu on Anakena beach that stands out for the well-preserved details of its moai, such as facial features and sculpted tattoos. It's a fascinating example of Rapanui artistic skill.
Anakena Beach
The most famous beach of Rapa Nui, with white sand and turquoise waters. It is not only a paradise place to rest, but also a historical site, as it is believed that Hotu Matu’a landed here and began the history of the island.
Rano Kau
Visit one of Rapa Nui’s three main volcanoes. Its huge crater, more than a kilometer in diameter, is covered by a lagoon with totoras (water plants), creating a unique landscape
Orongo
Located at the top of the Rano Kau, it was an important ceremonial center where the bird man competition (Tangata Manu) was held. Petroglyphs with bird and deity figures, and semicircular stone houses used by competitors and priests are preserved here.
Ahu Vinapu
Visit a fascinating archaeological site because its walls display a strikingly similar style of construction to the pre-Inca cultures on the continent. The stone blocks fit together with great precision, which generates mystery and debate among archaeologists.
Ahu Akivi
It is the only ahu whose moai face the sea, as most do so inland. There are seven moi identical in size and shape, aligned perfectly. They are believed to represent the seven explorers sent by legendary king Hotu Matu’a before the island’s colonization.
Ana Te Pahu
Known as the “Cave of Bananas”, it is the largest on the island. Inside grow plants such as bananas, sugar canes and sweet potatoes, as it was used as an underground garden thanks to the humidity and protection it offered. It was also a wartime refuge.
Ahu Tongariki
Before dawn we move to the South East Coast towards the ceremonial platform Ahu Tongariki, one of the most beautiful places on the Island. In this place the culture and mysticism of the Island is united. The sunrise is a unique sight letting us appreciate how the sun rises behind the imposing 15 moai platform.
Te Ra'ai
Enjoy a magical night with transfer included, welcome snack and takona on your face to connect with the Rapanui tradition. Wear typical costumes for unforgettable photos and participate in the ceremony of the “Umu Pa’é”, the island’s ancestral curant. Savor a buffet dinner (drinks not included) and experience the excitement of a folkloric narrated show, full of dances, legends and polynesian energy. The evening is crowned with special greetings for birthdays, anniversaries or honeymoons, making this experience a unique and unrepeatable memory.
