Cowes

Cowes is Phillip Island's main commercial hub and is a bustling location of restaurants, cafes, breweries, and boutique shops. This is where our tour starts! Here you will have time to explore in your own time.  Our guide will point out the notable spots, and then allow you some freedom to wander.  Visit the ever popular brewery, take a seat at the pub overlooking the waterfront, take part in some retail therapy, take a stroll along the jetty, or even go for a dip in the sparkling blue waters. The time is yours! OR Maybe you are wanting your fix of the cute and cuddly (and some not so much) Australian Native Wildlife.  Well, now is your chance to get up close and personal with some of Australia's best. Do so at the Phillip Island Wildlife Park, where you will have the chance to pet a Kangaroo, say Hi to a Koala, Feed the Wallabies, and even get harassed by an Emu (in a nice way of course) Note: this is are your own expense ($21pp) and will be in place of your times at Cowes

Phillip Island Winery

Arriving at this beautiful estate, you'll quickly realize why the Phillip Island Winery is a favored spot for both locals and visitors alike. Take part in a Wine Tasting Experience, right at the cellar door - tasting a range of different wines harvested throughout the Gippsland Region. Following your tasting, you will sit down and enjoy a delicious share-plate Winery Lunch feast. Complete with Wood Fired Pizzas, Antipasto Platters, Salads, and the ever favorite hot chips (fries). Take some time out here to buy more wine, beers, or ciders should you wish - it's a chilled experience here.

Admission Included

The Nobbies Centre

This is already one of Phillip Island's main attractions, simply for the sheer beauty it possess - however, we visit this stunning spot right on Golden Hour, allowing us a perfect sight over the glistening waters and rocky cliffs. Enjoy this moment with a Glass of Sparking Wine, as you enjoy the views and take  a walk along the boardwalk, taking in spectacular sights, and glimpses of native wildlife. We depart from here along the back roads, providing us unparalleled views over Westernport Bay and Bass Strait, with even more wildlife to spot.

Admission Included

Phillip Island Nature Parks - Penguin Parade

A "must do" whilst in Melbourne/Victoria, the Penguin Parade has long been the star attraction of Phillip Island.  We arrive here early enough so that you can take some time in this world-class visitor centre, and grab a bite to eat from the cafe should you wish. You will then make your way out to the Penguin Viewing Platform, awaiting the arrival of the stars of the shows - the Little Penguins. As the sun begins to set, your ranger-guide will provide you information on these cute little creatures, and then you will see literally thousands of them make their way onto the beach and up the hill side. Walk along the boardwalk as you get within inches of these native Australian Penguins, admiring their uniqueness and cuteness alike. Once we have had our cuteness overload, we board back on the bus - making our way back to Melbourne...with plenty of good memories to accompany us for the journey back

The whole family had an unforgettable experience. Caitlin our guide made our trip so fun from start to finish. We would highly recommend Caitlin and Local Way Tours to anyone.

We met Sue our friendly tour guide at the easy to find pickup location, from that moment on we had such the best time with her truly local insightful knowledge. Above and beyond service all day long as we visited the locations of our tour with some lovely unexpected extra touches. We highly recommend Local Way Tours for a friendly relaxed way to see some of the buetiful highlights of the area. We won't ever forget this trip!

The guides were amazing, super funny and courteous, the winery was the best we’ve been to with the most amazing pizza! the sightseeing was fantastic. everything was organized, they had our tickets ready for the penguin parade and gave us great advice. So much cheaper and more value than booking with the cruise line.

Cruise passengers can trust this company. We were on a princess cruise ship and booked this tour with these guys, the ship cancelled the port because of the wind, and these guys, Without prompting, gave us our money back.. firstly, we thank the company, and can recommend them to fellow cruisers. Cheers

We had a great day with Rod as our Tour Leader, plenty of activities but didn't feel rushed, Beautiful scenery spots on the Island, the farm was a laugh (ask Rod about the goats hahaha) there were not many penguins but the day had so many highlights it didn't matter

So disappointed - tour was cancelled the day before but I only received an email on the actual morning of the booked tour at 8.30 am. I tried to find another tour but it was impossible to book for the same day so we didn’t see the penguins. I booked and paid in full 6 months in advance and would hope that in future you either stipulate that cancellation may happen or cancel with more notice

Ray is amazing! The whole tour is phenomenal! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Penguins are great, wine, is great. Just book it.

Ray took us on a wonderful tour around Phillip Island, starting with a short stop in San Remo. We visited some of the beaches popular with the locals, stopped at overlooks for fantastic views of the rocky shoreline with the surf crashing ashore, visited the Koala Conservation Sanctuary where we saw koalas in the trees near and far; had a lovely wine tasting at the Phillip Island Winery … with enough food to feed an army. A sparkling wine toast at the Nobbies — where we saw wallabies and grey goose wandering all over the reserve lands — and then onto the Penguin Parade … highly recommend upgrading this experience to Penguins Plus. We saw at least a hundred of the Little Penguins rushing ashore, with some stopping in front of us to groom before continuing up to their burrows. Even saw chicks chasing parents, begging to be fed. Ray operates a great tour … and his charming personality adds to the experience.

Joanne was a very energetic , happy tour guide for us . She was passionate about Melbourne and their tour. This made us all feel comfortable and well looked after . The tour was not rushed at all. We had ample time to take in all the beautiful sights , enjoy lovely wines and tasty dinner. The penguins were so adorable and worth the long drive to see them . Joanne also got us back home quicker than the other tour buses. I highly recommend this tour . Thank you Joanne !

Great tour with wine and lunch. The penguins was a little disappointing and that's not your fault, they need more lighting.
