What to expect
With Hollywood-style Rococo architecture, Quitandinha was a renowned 5-star hotel having received important names such as Walt Disney. The visit from this point is panoramic.
Also known as the Imperial Palace, it is a Historical - Thematic museum located in the historic center of the city of Petrópolis. Its collection is divided into the following spaces: dining room, music room, state hall, Dom Pedro II Office, princesses' room and empress's visiting room.
Dedicated to the patron saint of Brazil, the cathedral of Petrópolis is one of the most important neo-Gothic constructions in the country. Designed at the end of the 19th century, this church stands out for the beauty of its facade and its countless overworked stained glass windows.
Also known as “A Encantada”, the aviation father's summer house has some peculiarities, such as one of his latest inventions, which is the shower with hot water and also the external staircase where you can only start climbing with your right leg. Entry is optional.
Inaugurated in 1884. the Palácio de Cristal was a gift from Conde d'Eu to Princess Isabel in order to be used as a greenhouse so that she could grow her vegetables. Nowadays, the Palace houses several regional fairs and, around it, is where the famous Bauernfest is located, which takes place on the last weekends of June.
