What to expect

You will be welcomed by your guide, Karri, at the Galston Rural Sports Facility, where our journey begins. Here you will meet our ponies and get them ready for their walk. After learning some pony leading skills in an enclosed space, we will embark on a beginner-friendly 4 km walk along the bridleway surrounding picturesque Fagan Park. Throughout the journey, we will enjoy the changing scenery, chat about our surroundings, and pause to admire the countryside views. As we follow the bridleway, we may encounter other users of the trail such as dog walkers, horse riders, and cyclists. We might be lucky enough to spot some horses, sheep, cows, and even native wildlife along the way. Our path is a one-way loop leading us back to our starting point, where we will tend to the ponies' needs and reward them for their good work. You can help brush or wash them and feed them. We wrap up our time together with some light refreshments and a friendly chat, where you'll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
