What to expect

We will be seated around a table for 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on how fast things go with the process. We will begin with a demonstration of the skills involved, and then you will have a chance to do it yourself. 1. Choose a piece of artwork to use for your batik painting, and then trace it onto cloth using a pencil 2. Paint melted wax onto the cloth, following the pencil lines you traced 3. Paint colors onto the cloth 4. Apply a liquid to fix the colors on the cloth 5. The remainder of the process you will do at least 24 hours later at home. I will give you a handout with instructions for that part This may sound like a lot, but it’s going to be a lot of fun!! ;)
