What to expect
Our next stop along the route is Chapmans Peak once we pass through the village of Hout Bay ( Wood Bay) which is reached by hugging the coast all the way from Cape Town with lovely views over the Atlantic Ocean. Once famous for its natural forest and home to elephants and leopards which have long departed ! Chapmans Peak Drive is considered one of the worlds most beautiful coastal drives with breathtaking views At its Southern end it opens up to Long Beach, an 8 km stretch of white sand where horses are often seen galloping along the beach.
Our destination is finally reached and here we take time out to explore the beautiful 7500 hectate reserve with amazing sights of wide animals in the offering such as Bontebok,Zebras,Eland and the infamous Baboons (You need to come on the tour to hear the story !) We walk up to the Lighthouse and take in the views where the two oceans meet and have our photo taken in front of the famous sign which reminds us that we are at the "Most South Western Tip of Africa "
Our return journey is via the Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. This colony of African Penguins is one of only a few in the world. We walk on the boardwalks down to the beach to see them in their natural environment
Kalk Bay
We stop for lunch in Kalk Bay ( Chalk Bay ) at Harbour House Restaurant which is perched on the edge of the ocean. Magnificent views and food to match (For own account )
Our last stop of the day is at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens famous the world over where we take a walk through the garden. Did Apartheid start here in 1660 ? You need to take the tour to find out !
Camps Bay
This Tour takes in the beautiful scenery as we travel down the West Coast to the Peninsula via the world famous Chapmans Peak Drive stopping often along the way to take in the beautiful vistas At the Park we visit various points of interest including the famous Cape Peninsula which is the "most southern Tip of Africa " and the light house with amazing views in every direction ! We return via False Bay on the East Coast where we stop at Boulders Beach to see the African Penguin (Yes amazingly Africa has Penguins ! ) and also the famous Kirtstenbosch Gardens before returning to Cape Town . Our first stop of that day is upmarket Camps Bay known for its white sandy beach, rock pools and views of the 12 Apostles mountain range.
