    Have loved tamarindo for surfing and so glad to have found a teacher like Mao. Was a great experience, especially as a new surfer, but I also know a lot of experienced surfers who benefited from Mao’s instruction too. Great for a family experience or a solo!

    Mao is a super experienced instructor with a calm and encouraging demeanor, I’ve surfed with him as a beginner and intermediate surfer and feel like he’s great with all levels. Hope to surf with him again and learn more!

    Mao and Caleb were fantastic instructors, and made sure we had an awesome time despite a crowded beach and big waves. I was nervous as I have no surfing experience, but both instructors were super supportive and helpful and I had a really great time. I would definitely recommend their surf lesson, and do it again myself!

    I HIGHLY recommend getting lessons with Mouse surf school if you are staying in Tamarindo!! With 4 beginner surfers wanting to try it out, everyone was able to catch waves despite having not the best conditions. Both instructors were so personable and super helpful. The 2 hours flew by and we would definitely book again. Book your lesson now- you won’t regret it!!!

    I went surfing with Mao for several days in a row and had a blast! Regardless of what level you are Mao offers an amazing experience for all! If you want more than the standard experience and just another surf school this is your guy! We will be returning again next year to go surfing with the entire family! Thanks, Mao

You’ll learn about currents, positioning, and how to move safely in the ocean. 2️⃣ Technique Practice on the Sand Before entering the water, we practice: Proper board positioning Efficient paddling technique The correct pop-up (how to stand up) Wave timing fundamentals This preparation dramatically increases your chances of catching waves. 3️⃣ Guided Warm-Up Stretching and mobility exercises prepare your body for balance and performance. 4️⃣ In-Water Coaching Now the fun begins.     When we reach the seashore, ready to surf, we analyze the conditions and establish a point on the water where we will be. Then, we talk about how to stay safe and the right way to move with the board at sea. Let’s move on to theory: we’ll learn to lie down, paddle and climb the board. We practice this on the sand, pretending to catch a wave. Before entering the water, we do a series of stretches and warm-ups to prepare the body. In the water! We focus on making the experience easy and fun, finding the right place and the perfect time to catch the wave. Finally, we review the lesson with feedback to improve in the next session.
