    We organized our visit to the Alhambra with Cheikh Sow. In addition, he provided information for an Air BNB in Granada. It was an excellent lodging location that was very convenient. Mr. Sow started the tour with an introduction to the map of the Alhambra (sign & map) as you commence your experience. During our tour, he explained the history of the different languages and cultures in order to attempt to grasp the meaning of your journey and walk through the Alhambra. His knowledge and interpretation of ancient Arabic gave depth to the tour of the Alhambra. This is very important because the engravings are in “ancient”Arabic, which some who may speak and write Arabic cannot interpret the engravings in the Alhambra. Mr. Sow had us using our imagination with his continuous flow of wisdom and information about each area of the tour. We received an impeccable history lesson as we thought we were very well prepared intellectually for this journey. Well, Mr. Sow kindly displayed his knowledge and politely corrected our misinformation in regards to poetry, mathematics, science, astronomy and yes history. It was like Mr. Sow is the caretaker of the Alhambra. A one day tour in the Alhambra is just like an intro to the many levels of knowledge and understanding that it has for those who are ready to receive it. Mr. Sow will help you attempt to discern the symbolism and depth of wisdom that the Alhambra is yearning to share. Mr. Sow referenced Washington Irving quite often as well. I can go on and on. Our entire experience has encouraged us to read more and practice research often. It has opened our eyes to a Spain and Andulasia that is very precious and not just for its beauty. Thank you Mr. Sow and the Alhambra staff for such a grandiose experience and walk through time.

    We had an amazing guided tour with the exceptional Sow!!! Apart from the amazing knowledge of the worldwide history, he was enthusiastic on his extremely describing narrative. The most important of all was that we was able to read all the arabic scripts of the Nasrid palace, and translate them with passion. Tireless and patient he spend with us much more time beyond the expected! He managed to amaze and excite even our 9 years old son! We dived deep into the history of the Alhambra and completed the tour full of experience and sentiments! We will never forget him. We will keep him in our hearts and minds forever!

    Our guide Angela Rebora Garcia met us at the ticket office and from there she guided us around Generalife and Alhambra. Angela had an amazing knowledge of and enthusiasm for the historical sites and was able to answer any questions we had. The pace of our tour, which took 3 hours, was very comfortable. We would highly recommend the tour and our tour guide.

    We had a wonderful time in the Alhambra and it was made even better with this particular tour. Our guide Laura was incredibly knowledgeable, and you really get a lot more from a visit having someone with you who knows the combination of history, geography and architecture that makes it unique. We were able to skip past the larger tour groups and photograph the highlights of the Nasrid palaces and gardens pretty much on our own. I’d recommend this experience to anyone planning a trip to Granada and it really makes the whole visit a lot easier - including booking the tickets beforehand and planning a route through the palace complex on the day.
