Sri Muthumariamman Temple is a Kovil at Matale, Sri Lanka, built in late 1800s, and dedicated to Goddess Mariamman (goddess of rain and Fertility), a deity worshipped by Hindus. It has adapted the common Dravidian Architecture usually seen in major Kovils. However, one of the unique features in this kovil, is its high Gopuram (an enticingly decorated large tower) named 'Raja Koburum'. It is one of the largest Gopurams in Srilanka. Nalanda Gedige is believed to be the center of Sri Lanka. The structure, which is about 1000 years old is made of rock and lime, where its architecture demonstrates a combination of both Buddhist and Hindu art.
