Haghpat Monastery, founded by Queen Khosrovanush (wife of King Ashot III of Armenia) in 976. It consists of one narthex, two corridors-tombs, a refectory, a scriptorium, a Hamazasp chapel, a bell tower, several chapels. Tombs and crosses (khachkars).

Sanahin was the administrative center and family tomb of the Kurikian Bagratids (10th and 11th centuries), as well as the episcopal residence of the diocese (until the 11th century).
