We start at Aristotelous Square and run toward the seafront, enjoying the view by the sea. As we go through the city center, we pass places that combine modern life with history. We continue through the Aristotle University, full of energy and student life, and run by the Rotunda and Kamara, two famous landmarks of the city. Our route takes us through lively streets, squares, and neighborhoods. We pass old markets and head to Ladadika, one of the most charming parts of Thessaloniki. We finish back at Aristotelous Square, after a fun and unique experience of running and exploring.
The Rotunda of Thessaloniki, also known as the Church of Agios Georgios, is a remarkable monument with a rich and varied past. Originally built in 306 AD by the Roman Emperor Galerius, it has served as a pagan temple, a Christian church, and an Ottoman mosque, leaving its mark on the city's cultural landscape. Today, it stands as a museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors with its stunning architecture and intricate mosaics.
Ladadika District
Aristotelous Square is Thessaloniki's main city square, a bustling waterfront hub designed by Ernest Hébrard and largely constructed in the 1950s after the Great Fire of 1917.
