Experience Authentic Kendo and Samurai Culture in Osaka Step into a real Japanese dojo in Osaka and practice Kendo, the traditional martial art of the Samurai. This beginner-friendly experience is conducted in English and requires no prior experience, making it ideal for first-time visitors to Japan and culture enthusiasts. Your experience begins with an introduction to Kendo, Samurai culture, and Bushidō. You will then change into authentic Kendo uniforms and protective armor, learn basic Kendo techniques using the Shinai, and enjoy a safe, match-style Kendo session under professional guidance. The dojo is beautifully maintained, displaying authentic Samurai artifacts. You can step into full Samurai gear and capture photos, creating unforgettable memories of your visit. The facility includes air conditioning, heating, showers, and changing rooms, and is conveniently located in central Osaka. In addition to our regular sessions, additional sesisons are available on the following dates: * Mondays in October & November: 17:30–19:30 * Sun, 29 November: 14:00–16:00 * Mon, 28 & Tue, 29 December: 17:30–19:30 The experience programme remains the same as our regular sessions.

Uncover Kendo's rich history: Learn about brief Kendo history, Reiho, refined behaviours for Kendo, and the Bushido Spirit. Kendo Experience (Kendo striking practice): Wear Kendo protective armours such as Dogi/Hakama (Kendo uniform), Men (Kendo mask), Kote (arm protectors), Do (torso protector), and Tare (leg protector). Use Shinai (bamboo sword) to strike each other. Strike and compete based on the match format. Due to the difficulty of experiencing Kendo, changing clothes and taking pictures will be the main activities for children aged between three and five years old.

The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
