If you want to go to the peak of a mountain in Switzerland, by cable car, this is it. The journey to Schilthorn is enchanting: a cable car ride from Stechelberg transports you to Piz Gloria, a revolving restaurant perched on the summit. The 360-degree panorama unfolds—lush valleys, pristine lakes, and jagged peaks stretching into infinity. James Bond aficionados will recognize Piz Gloria as the lair of Blofeld in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” And please... Don’t miss the Skyline View platform, where you can spot 200 mountain peaks on a clear day.

Cable cars rammed full of people at all stops , every level is a building site due to the redevelopment , the cable cars are efficient and easy to get on and off as the journey to the top consists of changing around 4 times . The top is good fun great views and the james bond experience is fun. Murren is a great place to visit on the way down and nice views from places to eat and drink . It cost just under 400 chf for 3 6-15 and 2 adults , the building site status of every level is not a good look and you should visit when the work is done .
The picture of the cement mixer is what everyone had to walk by to get to murren as this is the path out of the cable car stop . Not ideal to be honest .
Well worth a visit in 2027 when work is finished and we will be back

The views at the top are fabulous but frankly the cable car was awful. From the base at Stechelberg you have to change cable cars 3 times and each time they pack people like sardines till you can barely breathe, so it was quite scary for our little ones and the dog, and the waiting times between one coming and going is quite long.

Highly NOT recommend to go until they finish the reconstruction. Cable car is very old and inside is so hot we almost passed out. Seriously do not go until they finish reconstruction. On top of that it was so foggy that we did not see anything so before you go make sure to check live camera for the view.
Lastly terrible and very exhausting experience. Money poured down the drain. Definitely not worth the price.
Rather go for Titlis in Engelberg.

Basically, a ram packed cable car journey to and from a building site.
A significant amount of construction work is currently going on. The cable car operators on behalf of the Schilthorn company literally ram pack each cable car. “Move forward! Move forward!” was a frequent bark at tourists struggling to find a space in packed cable cars. Haven’t we learnt anything from COVID?
I have visited the Schilthorn many times, including when ‘Bond World’ opened some years ago. It was a really good and enjoyable experience. The Bond displays now look tired after all these years, some were not working, evidence of scratched walls, lack of maintenance, and in need of refreshing. The Bond exhibition has not been added to or upgraded over the years. It does need to be upgraded in order to maintain its interest to visitors., who pay a significant price to visit. The interior white painted walls are in need of a fresh coat of paint since they are worn and scruffy in many areas. Perhaps the intention is to focus on the interior when the external construction work is completed. It most certainly needs it.
I would like to visit the Schilthorn again one day in the future when all the construction work is fully completed, and when - hopefully - they address the Bond exhibition by investing in it.
It is an expensive trip to the Schilthorn, even with a half price pass ( working out at £43 each taking into account the half price pass).
The Schilthorn cable car operators need to smile. That costs nothing.
To end on a positive note, the views from the Schilthorn on a clear day are amazing. You do need t pick a clear day to visit.
