What to expect
You will walk through Stockholm's Old Town during the first half of the tour. Old Town is the original city of Stockholm, established in the 1200's. Many of the buildings here are preserved from medieval times. Agnes shares the story about the commerce that used to take place at Järntorget (Iron square) and tells the story about how her family were involved with building the Vasa ship.
Skeppsbrokajen
Agnes takes you down to the waterfront and starts asking around among the harbour workers for anyone who was there and witnessed the Vasa ship sinking. A rowing lady comes to your aid, and offers a boat ride, while she tells you about the terrible events of that day.
You'll make a stop below the Royal Palace, roughly in the same location as where the Vasa ship was docked before its disastrous maiden journey. The ship was docked here to be stocked with cannons and other supplies.
Make a stop by the entrance of Kungsträdgården park, to hear the story of a palace that was once in this location.
You'll walk across Skeppsholmen, where you'll stop at a lookout point where you can observe the first part of the route that the Vasa ship sailed before it sank. Skeppsholmen translates to "Ship island", and there used to be shipyards here. Today you can find several of Stockholm's museums here. Agnes runs into someone who claims that he knows her - but mybe he is confusing her with someone else?
The tour ends by the Skeppsholmen ferry dock. From here, the Vasa museum is just a five minute ferry ride away across the water. Agnes finally meets the person she has been looking for all along. Maybe this story will end happily after all?
