    This product works great, you can have music on the the narration will interrupt as you drive along. All of the notes were really interesting, we love in the area but still learned some new things! Notes on parking, stops coming up, how long detours take is all very helpful. My only note is that I couldn't figure out how to keep it running in the background even after following prompting. So I had to keep my phone screen on during use.

    The audio guide is great. Very informative and entertaining. We've done other audio tours through Viator before and really enjoy how convenient and interesting they are. This tour takes 3 - 4 hours BUT I would highly recommend putting a whole day aside if you want to do any of the activities, i.e. hikes, orchard tours, wind surfing, etc. off this route. We only got to do a quick 10 minute hike to a waterfall and a short tour around a hatchery before we had dinner reservations back in Portland that evening. We definitely want to come back see more of those sights. FYI, Multnomah Falls is a reservation-only (til 6 pm) sight during the summer. I thought i could make the reservations the day before because we didn't know what time we'd get there BUT we did not get a chance to see it because they were booked up.

    It was excellent!!!! the path one should take was already following the route we were going to take anyway so it fit exactly with our plans. We started and ended in the suggested spots. It was great to have a narrator during the trip while in the car, making some of the recommended stops, no hikes really because that would probably take a 2+ day trip. We listened to our favorite playlist and the narrator would simply interject, the music from our playlist would stop and re-start automatically once the narrator went away. The experience of getting the tour to play is another story. That was a pretty bad one. First of all, I am an engineer and very technical person. I purchased the tour on Viator, it then required that I download a separate app called GuideAlong and to log into it. All good so far, however, I didn't log into Viator and I've never used GuideAlong so what credentials to use? the options were Apple or Google. It took a while and eventually we figured it out. How? I can't even tell you how we got it to show up, it was not intuitive at all. We were already on the road and a few minutes from the starting point when this happened so maybe we skipped a step, maybe we didn't read something maybe it was our issue, however, I've purchased tours like these from GetYourGuide for example and the experience was seamless, even while on the subway half paying attention I was able to pay, get the tour downloaded and start listening without an issue.

Be aware that the seasonal bridge is no longer installed, so hikers must cross the Sandy River by balancing on logs or fording the water. This crossing can be dangerous when water levels are high. Always check trail conditions before heading out to enjoy this serene and cooling reward.

    Starvation Creek Falls

    Don't let the name put you off - this short, satisfying 1.8-mile trail packs in four waterfalls in quick succession. Starvation Creek Falls is just a tenth of a mile from the trailhead, followed by Cabin Creek Falls, Hole in the Wall Falls and Lancaster Falls along the Historic Highway State Trail. The highlight is Hole in the Wall, where engineers actually blasted a tunnel through a cliff face and diverted an entire creek through it to protect the highway below - nature improved upon by sheer audacity. Allow around an hour for the full out-and-back. Note: The park isn't directly accessible from westbound I-84, so continue to Exit 51 at Wyeth, double back eastbound and come in from the Starvation Creek exit. Add around 10 minutes for the detour well worth it.
