What to expect
De Wijnhuistoren
In the 14th century there was an inn here called 'Die Taverne Tho Vreden'. And now, many centuries later, it's still a great place to have something to eat or drink!
Bourgonjetoren, Zutphen
Here you can still see parts of the city defenses that are more than 500 years old. The Bourgonjetoren, built in 1457, was one of the many towers along the city walls that served to protect the city.
The Drogenapstoren is a city gate built around 1445. This was one of the main entrance gates when the city was still encircled by city walls.
Walburgistoren Zutphen
The Walburgis tower was once higher than the Dom in Utrecht. In the Walburgis church you will also find the Librije, a library where the age-old books are still on a chain. Even then, this was considered an effective way of preventing book theft!
The Berkelpoort was built in the 14th century. It was built to connect the two locations on the river.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
