Akrotiri Archaeological Site

The "Pompei of Greece", is one of the most important prehistoric settlements in Europe that in 1500 BC was buried in ashes by a volcanic eruption. Please notice that our guide cannot follow you inside the archaeological site.

Akrotiri

In the village of Akrotiri, we will visit the ruins of the Venetian Castle also known as "La Ponta". Other attractions are the church of Agia Theodosia and the workshop/exhibition of "Tsabouna", a kind of double-chantered traditional bagpipe.

Red Beach

Our next stop is at the top of the volcanic Red Beach, from where you can take amazing photos.

Akrotiri Lighthouse

The oldest Lighthouse in Greece, built in 1892 located at a spot that offers unique views, especially during sunset. We conclude the tour by returning back to Fira.
