    The overall experience of the hot air balloon ride was okay, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully meet expectations due to the seating arrangement. My girlfriend and I were placed in single compartments in the middle of the basket, meaning we were separated for the entire flight. This significantly impacted the experience, as we couldn’t take pictures together or move freely to enjoy the views from different angles. I understand that this setup is for safety reasons and is beyond the operator’s control, but given the premium price, I would have expected a slight reduction in cost for those who are placed in the middle sections, as the experience is noticeably less immersive. I raised this concern at the end of the trip but was told there was nothing they could do. This should be made clearer on the website—if I had known there was a chance we’d be separated, I wouldn’t have booked at this price point. While the ride itself was enjoyable, the lack of transparency and the steep cost made it feel somewhat disappointing. If you’re considering booking, be aware that you might not get an edge position, which can really impact your overall experience.

    Mali was a super pilot. We saw some amazing views and the crew were fab too! The basket was big enough for us to share with another couple and not feel cramped. The staff provided us with a light breakfast and water. Such a great experience

    An absolutely wonderful experience to glide gently over the Sri Lankan countryside at dawn, watching the sun come up. Amazing views all round. The pilot - M.Ali - was excellent. Always in control and he kept us informed in terms of safety, where we were going and what we could see. A superb pilot. His team were also excellent. Very nice and helpful. I highly recommend Sri Lanka Baolloon.

Please note that our complimentary pick-up and drop-off service is only available for guests staying in Kandalama, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Habarana or nearby areas. Our vehicle, branded with the Sri Lanka Balloon logo, will pick you up from your hotel. After booking, please contact our hotline to arrange your pick-up time and schedule a passenger briefing at your hotel the night before your flight. Be ready in the hotel lobby at least 5 minutes before the confirmed pick-up time. After your flight, we will drop you off at your hotel or any location of your choice within Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.
