The Basílica del Voto Nacional, also known as the Consecration of Jesus or Basilica of San Juan, is a neo-Gothic religious building in the historic centre of the city of Quito
Here is the Government Palace or Carondelet Palace, the Municipal building and the City Cathedral, after a few steps we will reach the La Compañía de Jesús Church, a jewel of Baroque architecture and an impressive example of Quito's colonial art, we continue to the Church of San Francisco, which is the first church to be built in the city of Quito. In the surroundings of the Plaza we will have the opportunity to taste one of the best chocolates made with fine cocoa of Ecuadorian aroma.
El Panecillo
We continue towards the Panecillo viewpoint located at the top of the hill of the same name at 3,035 meters above sea level, and which was formerly known as “shungoloma” or heart hill, here you will find a large-scale aluminum replica (45 meters) of the Virgin of Quito, sculpted by Quito artist Bernardo de Legarda and whose original is displayed on the main altar of the Church of San Francisco
