Statue of Liberty
When you are ready to see the Statue of Liberty up close, head to the ferry line for Liberty Island. A short ferry ride later, arrive on the second island and pick up a multilingual audio guide to explore at your own pace. Discover the grounds and visit the Statue of Liberty Museum, which opened in 2019.
Your first stop will be Ellis Island, which was America’s busiest immigration station for over 62 years. Tour at your own pace with a multilingual audio guide. Wander around the grounds, search the Wall of Honor for your family members, and visit the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
When you are done, you can choose to return to New Jersey by ferry or continue on to Battery Park in New York. To visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on the same day as your visit the Statue of Liberty, you will need to take the ferry from Liberty Island to Battery Park. Your experience will end in New York City after your self-guided visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. You will then need to make your own way back to New Jersey.
