Salem Night Tour

Take a spooky stroll through downtown Salem, Massachusetts on this haunt and history, night walking tour. Join the adventure Friday and Saturday at 8pm or Sunday through Thursday at 6pm. Starting April 1st, we will be running every night at 8pm! Licensed guides lead the way through legends, history, and the infamous hysteria of 1692 — the Salem Witch Trials. This is a walking tour of historic downtown Salem that lasts about 90 minutes. Hear amazing stories of Salem's past and discover why Salem is one of the most beloved, historic, and haunted towns in America. The route goes at a comfortable pace, rain or shine. This Salem night tour is typically well attended, so reservations are highly recommended. In October we require guests to be early. Late arrivals (even by just a minute) are not accepted under any circumstances. Guest that cannot arrive early should not book this tour in October.

This tour was the highlight of my weekend in Salem! April was a very knowledgeable, interesting, and helpful tour guide. She knew so much about Salem’s history and debunked a lot of myths. It was very engaging and I walked away feeling like I learned a lot! It was more than just ghost stories, if you like history this is the tour for you!

Our tour guide April was very engaging and knowledgeable about the history of the Salem witch trials and the town’s historical background overall. It was super interesting and even my daughter put her phone down to listen to the tales and stories.

I wanted to love this tour so badly. This was a bucket list experience for me, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. Our guide had the best of intentions, but her storytelling was confusing and disjointed, failing to capture the spooky lore promised in the tour description. We left without learning anything new or feeling the chills we had anticipated. Aside from the cemetery, the locations we visited were not spooky at all, even at 9pm. The city was overrun with giant tour groups, completely killing the ambiance. Our guide was constantly distracted, making it hard to get into the spooky mood or even hear her over the noise of the crowds. To make matters worse, we were insulted by angry locals, and our tour was repeatedly interrupted by locals on motorcycles trying to annoy the tourists. The City of Salem needs to regulate the number of tour companies because the streets are overrun, and it's clear the locals are frustrated. I can't say that I blame them. In response to the company's feedback that my issue was focusing on the negative and that everything I described was out of their control, I offered additional feedback on aspects that are within their control. I have no motivation to do anything but share honest feedback. I went into this experience with a positive mindset, ready to learn and be spooked by all that Salem has to offer. I thought that they should know if someone's experience wasn't positive.

Bobby Kerrigan was the best tour guide! He gave us detailed information about Salem and the witch trials. He kept it light and humorous and was very personable. My son got a kick out of his “dad” jokes.

I wanted to like this tour so badly. This was a bucket list type of thing for me. However, the tour missed the mark. Our guide had the best of intentions, but the city was so overrun with giant tour groups that the ambiance is completely killed and the tour guide was constantly distracted. When you are dodging 100 loud 16 year olds, it’s hard to get into the spooky mood or even hear what the guide is saying. We also were insulted by some angry locals and our tour was interrupted multiple times by locals on motorcycles trying to annoy the tourists. The City of Salem needs to do something about regulating the number of tour companies because the tours are overrunning the streets and the locals are obviously pissed. I can’t say that I blame them.

April was our guide and she was perfect for this job! Boston accent, funny stories about her dad and she was very knowledgable about the town and history. We were in a large group and I thought that made it fun because people ask questions that you may not think to ask and then you get some back story on the question for them to answer. Will go again! Keep it up April, tell your dad HI!!

Our guide Ben was really great, he has so much local knowledge and was able to deliver the tour with such enthusiasm that you don’t get bored. Some of the talking points I was aware of, but he elaborated and I learned something new. I have done other walking tours in Salem but this one was definitely my favorite.
