What to expect

1

Louisville

Our guide and trained voodoo priestess, Angelique, will take you on a spirited tour of one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the Derby City. "Old Louisville" counts as one of the largest historic preservation districts in the country and many say it's the "most haunted" neighborhood as well. There more than a thousand grand residences and mansions from the late 1800s and early 1900s spread out over some 40 square blocks. Many of them are alive with paranormal activity today.

Duration 110 minutes

St. James Court Fountain

Since the 1890s, this impressive splashing statue of Venus rising from the sea has served as the symbol of Old Louisville and it marks the epicenter of this fascinating historic district. Gas lamps illuminate the boulevard and walking courts, including secluded Fountain Court, where you will be given the chance to explore the haunted past of several different locations on the common green. One of them is the infamous "Murder House" across the main gate of Fountain Court on Fourth Street. This is where the bizarre and senseless killing of drag queen Jamie Carrol was uncovered in 2010 and it led local author David Dominé on a ten-year quest to find out what really happened the night of the murder. His true-crime memoir, which received a great write-up in The New York Times, digs deep into the dark and scandalous side of a very quirky neighborhood.

The Witches' Tree

Long a meeting spot for those who venerate nature and honor the occult, this gnarled and twisted tree at the corner of Sixth and Park has an energy and aura about it that many cannot deny.

Conrad-Caldwell House Museum (Conrad's Castle)

"Conrad's Castle," as many called it, towers over lovely, gas-lit St. James Court at the heart of America's Most Haunted Neighborhood. A Richardsonian-Romanesque masterpiece of carved limestone, it has many stories to tell.
