to whom it may concern: I booked this tour via Viator, Nicole from Epicurean called and said that she will cancel it and I can book it directly with her. I said Ok. Once we arrived to our first tasting, we were informed that there won't be a lunch and wine pairing. We ended up getting a terrible lunch at different place.She charged us full price but didn't deliver what she promised. We couldn't do anything about since we were already 90 mins aways from our hotel. I am sure I am not the only one that she did this too. Plus she overcharged for something that we didn't get.

DeBortoli was a great wine and cheese pairing event. EXCELLENT. Friendly, amicable, nice wines. Ferguson Winery the lunch was good but the tasting with lunch was sporadic/odd and the glass of wine with lunch never materialized. The servers seemed to not know how to deal with our group as they had an Easter menu/party going on so we were a bit neglected. Last winery Charon…we started late due to another group running long and then tasted 5 sparkling wines in 15 minutes…we were rushed…even our driver was a bit shocked when we came out so fast. Again, it seemed to be that the winery was overwhelmed by the Easter crowds.
The scenery was beautiful, the driver was prompt and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the van was a bit dirty/grimy. Bottled water would have been a nice gesture while traveling.

The bus was old and uncomfortable.
The tour felt rushed. The lunch was average. The first and last vineyards we enjoyed the wines. The vineyard where we had lunch, the wines were average.
We did a yarra valley wine tour 15+ yrs a go and it was excellent, so we were hoping for the same. We also did a few wine tours in SA two years ago, and they put this tour to shame. Disappointed .

Our guide, Billy, was cheery and jovial. He set up a nice atmosphere for us to get to know everyone else on the tour. It was a small group of 6 people, and we ended up having so much fun together. Billy has been "around the world a couple of times and maybe more", so had so much to tell us about Melbourne and the Yarra Valley with a worldly view. The selected wineyards were all good with a broad selection of wines, and goes with the beautiful settings to enjoy them with lovely company. Lunch was absolutely gorgeous, both courses were delicately prepared with plenty of choices to choose from. I went with my husband, and it was exactly what we wanted and more...a nice day out in the Yarra Valley to enjoy wines without the hassle of having to drive.

What to expect
Head for De Bortoli Winery, a third generation, Italian family owned winery. From its vineyards in this premium wine growing region, De Bortoli makes a wide range of award winning wines including the world acclaimed sweet white Noble One. Taste a selection of De Bortoli wines accompanied by a selection of local and international cheeses.
Next, visit the working winery, Yering Farm where you get the chance to taste some of the wines made with some of the oldest vines in the region as well as their famous cider.*
Continue your food and wine journey with a two-course lunch paired with wine at Tokar Estate or Tramonto Kitchen and Bar (depending on season, availability and size of group).
Your last stop is the exciting new kid on the block, Helen and Joey Estate for a premium wine tasting before heading back to your city accommodation.
* Please note: from July 1, 2018 onwards, this tour will visit Coombe, The Melba Estate instead of Yering Farm & Dixons Creek Estate.
Tour guests will be offered 2014 Tribute Series Nellie Melba sparkling blanc de blancs on arrival matched with a beautiful freshly shucked Sydney Bay oyster with red wine vinegar & shallot dressing.
Guests will then continue the wine-tasting with a showcase of the award-winning estate grown Coombe Farm Wine, approximately 6 in total.
