The voucher provided was not accepted at Tokyo tower. We had to buy tickets again. When I contacted the organizers through vivator I was told that I would not get a refund. Do not buy!!!! Tokyo tower is not very busy. Just buy directly there.

This isn’t necessarily about the tower, more about the vendor. We wasted 20 minutes trying to exchange the voucher for tickets. The staff at the ticket counter didn’t know what to do with the voucher as if no one had presented one before. We ended up buying tickets again. The vendor did provide a prompt refund, however we can’t get back the lost time. Just buy the tickets there.

As a first-time traveler to Japan, I have always wanted to see the Tokyo Tower. Until someone told me that the Tokyo Skytree is more popular now than Tokyo Tower. Anyways, I still wanted to go to check it out.
If you have been to Paris and been inside the Eiffel Tower, it does feel like being inside the Eiffel Tower in Paris while you are inside the Tokyo Tower. It was surreal going up the elevator and being able to oversee the city of Tokyo. The customer service representatives there were very friendly, respectful, and courteous. If you have not been inside the Tokyo Tower, I suggest that you pay a visit here. Don't let detractors prevent you from experiencing something new.

The tower is clean and nice. It's a little expensive, better buy the tickets directly in the tower because viator charges extra. Also, the voucher viator issued to us was not accepted in the tower. We found the tickets burried somewhere on the viator website. Why they didn't just send the tickets to us via mail and instead some voucher is beyond me. When we tried to contact viator for support, after the third saff member insisted they couldn' accept the voucher, they replied a full day later when it was way too late. In summary: the tower is nice albeit expensive. Avoid booking with viator.

Tokyo Tower is worth seeing if you have time during your trip. It is cheaper to buy your tickets at Tokyo Tower itself (not through a 3rd party, including Trip Advisor). You won’t have trouble with buying your tickets day of, as Tokyo Tower is not as busy as Shibuya Sky. I booked via Trip Advisor because I had $20 in trip cash I wanted to use.
