What to expect
Zurich HB
Meeting point is under the angel, which is an installation under the roof, in the old part of the station. It's nowadays one of Zurich's most used squares, and different installations are happing there, from art to beach volley ball. The federal railway center, some stores and restaurants are located there as well.
ShopVille
We visit main station Zurich, which is as well a shopping center. There you can find all information about your trips in Switzerland
We just have a look at the front side. It has been finished in 1898, as a national museum. In the courtyard, happenings like the Rundfunk or the Illuminarium take place.
Coming form the Landesmuseum, we cross the Limmat and have a nice view to Zurich's River area. We take the funicular at Central and have another nice view from the polyterrace!
ETH Store Polyterrasse
From Central, we take the funicular (free to use with a ticket zone 110), which brings us to one of Zurich's best viewpoints. After a short stop, we walk downhills to Predigerplatz.
Predigerpl.
An example of an abolished monastery. Nowadays used as the University's library. From there we proceed to Hirschenplatz, one of the hearths of Zurich old town.
Just a quick explanation of what DADA was and the use of the building today.
A quick explanation, and we enter to stay some 10 minutes in all (if open at the moment). We don't climb the tower, as there is an extra fee to pay for. We continue to the Wasserkirche.
We have a short stop, maybe even a snack or some ice cream, at the lake Zurich. from there, we proceed to the Burkliplatz, and have a nice view on the steamers and the lakeside
Bauschänzli
Once a part of Zurich's defense, now it's used as a Restaurant.
The original abbey was founded in 853. 874, the original church was finished. Relics of Felix and Regula were placed here, coming form the Grossmunster. The old abbey it self was demolished in 1898, for the Stadthaus. Chagall's and Giacometti's windows are notable. We don't enter, as there is a fee to pay.
The actual building replaced an older church in 1100, and is actually being renovated. It's famous for its baroque interior, and has europe's biggest clock on the four sides of the tower. Rudolf Brun, Zurich's first mayor, was buried here in 1360. We have a look form the outside. We continue to have a short stop at the Paradeplatz, Zurich's economical hearth. There was the Credit Suisse, and UBS is there, as well as Lindt & Sprüngli's dependence.
Lindenhof Hill
We visit the Lindenhof, which is a fantastic spot for taking pictures, calm, greenish and above the city! From there, we have a walk to Paradeplatz, with Lindt & Sprüngli!
Bahnhofstrasse
We have a little last quiet walk along all the shops in Zurich's expensive main street. If we are a little tired, we take a tram back to Zurich main station.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
