    I went with my kids aged 2 and 5 and we had one of our best days out in Riyadh. They loved riding the camel, face painting, craft activities, playing with sand toys and doing a bit of sandboarding. The treasure hunt, where they dug little treasure chests out of the sand for treats, was such a nice touch. The food, cooked traditionally in a buried oven, was also a great experience and we really enjoyed the whole day. We even got to dress up in traditional clothing and take some beautiful pictures. I 100% recommend this to anyone with kids of all ages. There were families with newborn babies who looked very comfortable and older kids who were happy just running around and playing. I thought it would be chaotic, but it was actually very relaxed. We could sit down and watch the kids play all day. And I had the absolute best fresh, warm kleija biscuit ever. Please tell me where to get it from because I have been dreaming about it since!

    We visited Dunes and Dates Desert Camp as a family trip, and it was such a memorable experience for all of us. Our daughter is two and a half (turning three), and she had an amazing time with the kids’ activities like canvas painting, molding, sand play, sandboarding with me, and the treasure hunt—which she absolutely loved. It was also lovely to see all the kids playing together and bonding, even though they didn’t know each other at first. The experience truly covers everything for both kids and parents. We enjoyed the unlimited camel rides, face painting, spice-tasting games for adults, and of course the food—especially the chicken cooked under the sand. Watching it being prepared, smelling it, and finally tasting it was incredible and so delicious. With unlimited dates, refreshments, and thoughtful activities throughout, it’s an ideal weekend getaway whether you live in Riyadh or are visiting Saudi Arabia. We also took so many beautiful photos during the experience. Overall, Dunes and Dates offers a unique, well-organized, and unforgettable desert experience for families.

    We booked this experience to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and it was truly outstanding. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully curated, seamless, and extremely well organized. The setting is beautiful and the camping spot is in an excellent location and the desert atmosphere is simply unforgettable. Every activity was engaging and perfectly timed, keeping the children happily entertained throughout. My kids especially loved the open desert space and spent so much time playing in the sand. It wad pure joy. What made the experience even more special was the staff. They were professional, warm, and genuinely attentive, ensuring everything was delivered exactly as promised and in many ways, exceeded expectations. The birthday arrangements were wonderful, including a cake that added such a thoughtful and memorable touch. The food was also excellent, with a dedicated children’s menu. Camel riding was another highlight, it was fun, safe, and very well managed. Overall, a 5/5 experience and a must do in Riyadh if you want something unique, premium, and family-friendly. We are already looking forward to returning again soon.

    As the morning sun rises over the golden sands, Dunes and Dates Desert Camp comes alive as a vibrant playground for young adventurers. In the bright warmth of the day, your child will set out on an unforgettable desert journey through our Little Desert Explorers program—designed to be both exciting and safe, just for them! Kids will be able to enjoy camel riding on our beautifully dressed camels or sandboard on our seated and standing sandboards (the camp is surrounded 360 degrees by pristine and safe desert dunes). Your little ones will also be take part in clay and painting workshops, treasure hunts and fun games all under the watchful eye of our trained team.     The culinary traditions of Saudi Arabia are showcased through live demonstrations and iconic recipes as you explore the art of preparing Saudi cuisine guided by a professional chef. Begin your journey by meeting the chef over coffee and dates as they introduce everyone to the space, the equipment, and the traditional recipes that will be made during the class. After introductions, split into teams, don your aprons and hats and head to the pantry to choose all your ingredients with your shopping list and basket. The preparation of the dishes are done under the watchful eye of the chef, who is there to help every step of the way giving important culinary tips and interesting facts about the dishes and ingredients being used. Once everyone has finished cooking, the dishes are all beautifully plated and garnished, then taken to a communal table for everyone to eat and share their delicious Saudi creations.
