We are staying in Akumal Bay so we were the last to get on the bus, thank heavens. They messaged us to be ready in the lobby for 9:25 and then messaged at 9:15 that they would not be here until 9:45. We tried to call at 10 and it went right to voicemail. They showed up at 10:05, not a great start. Couple besides us were the first to get on and they were late picking them up, not very professional at all. We drove 30-40mins to Tulum and paid the tax for the site, about $3.50 American each. We had to stay with the group, which was super hard because it was so busy, many groups. The tour guide was great at giving us information on the bus and as we walked. BE PREPARED, you cannot bring plastic bottles in and it is a big walk so bring a refillable water bottle. The site was interesting, but super crowded so hard to get around and get pictures, but still worth it. We did not have enough time to browse in the shops, but many were late getting back to the bus (we went off on our own for half an hour). We headed off to Coba and were told on the bus that we could rent a bike or a limo ( a man rides the bike with you on it)...if you go do the limo, so worth it. Some tries to walk it, but it is a long walk and you would be rushed with the little time you get.Our bike rider told us the history of each site and let us get off to take pictures, this was our favourite spot. The couple beside us were starving, as they were picked up at 7:30 in Cancun and so they missed this beautiful spot so they could go and buy some lunch (they did not offer us food or water at all). Back on the bus for half an hour to Coba. We got off the bus at 3pm for lunch lol. The restaurant had pork tortillas, chicken, rice, vegetables, spaghetti and salad, which was alright. If you wanted a drink of anything, alcoholic or not, you had to pay for it. We were lucky they had MasterCard as we did not bring enough money at all. Outside was the cenote, but yep you had to pay for a lifejacket and we're not allowed in without one....around $3 American each. This was worth the money just for the experience and to cool down, we felt refreshed after that and a Corona ($4 American each). Back on the bus at 5pm and the grumpy assistant came to us for the tax payment for Coba. We were running out of money fast, no bank machines around. We tried to pay with MasterCard and he was going to overcharge us by a lot, luckily he could not find a signal for the machine to work and so we gave him the last of our American dollars ($12). The tour guide came on and let us know that he would be coming up and down the aisle with a tin to receive tips, but by this point we had $1 to our name. We were the first to be dropped off at 6:30. We did not get to go to Playa del Carmen because we are on the other side, but we were happy to get off and enjoy our night at our resort. The poor couple beside us were told they would return to their resort in Cancun at 10pm. Overall, we were soooo lucky to be the last ones picked up and the first ones dropped off. We enjoyed all three sites and would highly recommend them, but not through this company. One last point is that we were all confused most of the time as to whether we were waiting for our group, on our own and overall what the hell was going on lol. Beautiful places to visit, but not through this company.

Please be advised that when you book through viator, you’re actually booking the trip through a middle man who then books you into the excursion with a separate company. We got booked with tours Cancun Suaste, which you can find their reviews on google.
I think the experience would’ve been memorable if not for the amount of people and amount of time spent on the bus. There were 50 people total. We were picked up at our hotel at 6:30am and did not return until 11pm. Originally we were told we should be done around 7/8pm, so this was a lot later than we anticipated. We truly weren’t prepared for it to be 16.5 hours, with 11.5 of them spent on the bus picking up other passengers/driving between destinations.
We didn’t arrive in Tulum until 11:30am due to the amount of people we had to pick up. Being there was great and you got to learn about Mayan history. We were there for 2 hours before heading to Coba, it was very hot so I would recommend bringing sunscreen and a hat/sunglasses. Coba was about 45 minutes away and we spent an hour there. The history of Coba is mind blowing and expansive so it would’ve been nice to have a bit more time there. I highly recommend renting the bicycles or paying for the tricycle transportation because in one hour you simply don’t have time to see everything and make it to the grand temple in the back. After Coba, we went to the cenote. This truly was the highlight of the trip and almost made all the time spent on the bus worth it. The food there was great, the cenote was gorgeous and you could dive into it and it also had swings. You do have to pay a mandatory fee of $50 MXN pesos per person for life jackets in order to swim so keep that in mind. Once we left the cenote, we headed to playa de Carmen and dropped people off along the way. When we arrived, it was 8pm and a lot of people wanted to go home. A few tried asking the tour guides if anything could be done for those of us that didn’t want to stop at the last excursion, but were informed that we’d have to stay put until 9pm when the shuttle was set to depart playa del Carmen. At 9pm we departed and started dropping people off, it took 2 hours and we were the last group to arrive at our hotel at 11pm since we were coming from Playa Mujeres. Overall, I would not recommend this trip if you’re staying in Playa Mujeres/Cancun. We finished the trip wishing we would’ve rented our own car to make the drive or just stayed in the Cancun area. It might’ve been different if we were staying closer and had less stops along the way. If you decide to book it, please be prepared for an extremely long day with most spent on the bus. Bring sunscreen and towels for the cenote, water bottles are provided for you along the way. Tour guides were nice and made an effort to teach you the history. My partner who speaks only English had a hard time understanding because the guides speak mainly Spanish, so I had to translate for him. Again, just be cautious when booking that due to the amount of people and amount of stops, this might not be the excursion you were hoping for. We would’ve opted for something closer, private, shorter, or with less viewing points had we known.

I have to say this was my first tour, and it was amazingly great our tour guide Elroy please forgive me if it's wrong but he is in the pictures 😉 He was very informative and funny and we were a little bit late and he waited on us!! The wait time was not long through out the trip, everyone came back at the designated time. For the money we paid everything was good from the food to the service of each desinated stop to the bus driver😉 What I loved the most probably is the drivers for the bikes carriages in the forest they was really getting it and they are fast too. Lol thank you for an amazing experience. Bonus we meet the most amazing people on the bus tour.The only thing I could complain about that it was very Hot🥵 but we made it through make sure you drink water one of my friends brought pink himalayan salt to put in our water to put electrolytes back in us.
