From the center of Tulum, head southeast on Avenida Tulum. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Carretera Tulum-Coba. Turn left onto Carretera Tulum-Coba and cycle for approximately 25 kilometers. Follow the signs for Coba archaeological site. Upon arrival, park your bicycle in the designated area near the entrance.
Collective Taxi (Colectivo)
Go to the colectivo station, located on Avenida Tulum between Calle Centauro Sur and Calle Mercurio. Look for a colectivo heading to Coba. The cost is typically around 50 pesos. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver you are going to Coba archaeological site, and they will drop you off at the entrance.
Walking
Walking to Coba from Tulum is not practical due to the distance (approximately 25 kilometers), but if you are adventurous, start by heading north on Avenida Tulum until you reach Carretera Tulum-Coba. Then follow the road west. Be mindful of traffic and carry plenty of water. It's advisable to start early in the morning for safety and comfort.
