Unless you have kids, don't bother. It's like Disneyland or a play park. Not wirth it for adults. A water of time and money.

I debated going on my own versus taking a tour, and I'm so glad I decided on the tour instead. I got so much more out of the visit than I would have if I went on my own. I learned so much and Geta was an excellent guide who is very knowledgable and friendly. A great way to experience the mine and understand more about what it is about.

Picked up from the hotel by Gita and given a history Estonia on the way to Turda. The mine is easily navigated but Gita gave it the edge with her depth of knowledge. The mine itself was beyond mind blowing with the sheer size of it housing a ferris wheel, golf course, table tennis tables and playground. Lifts and stairs available floor to ceiling. Consider Gita as a guide, she was superb from start to finish.

What to expect

You will descend into the underground where you'll completely be surrounded by salt. Walk on a man-made gallery, visit three mining chambers, learn about mining techniques and local urban legends and, nevertheless, take a boat or a Ferris-wheel ride. The visit of the mine involves climbing and descending some stairs. Most of the stairs can be avoided by taking two different elevators.
