Elsen Tasarkhai

Elsen Tasarkhai Semi-Gobi. Elsen Tasarkhai is a unique semi-desert area in central Mongolia, located about 280 km west of Ulaanbaatar. It features a narrow stretch of sand dunes surrounded by grassy steppe and rocky mountains, often called the “Mini Gobi.” The area is known for camel riding, scenic landscapes, and nearby nomadic families living in traditional gers. Kharkhorin

Karakorum was the capital of the Great Mongolian Empire in the 13th century. It is located on the right bank of the Orkhon River, approximately 360 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar, the present capital of Mongolia. In 1380, Karakorum was destroyed. About two centuries later, Avtai Khan, founder of the Erdene Zuu Monastery, established the monastery on the same site. Today, Kharkhorun is rich in historical and cultural attractions, including the famous Erdene Zuu Monastery.
