It is the oldest church in Serbia. It is the place where the father of Serbian state was batized as well as his sons. This church is where the history of the Balkan region was decided. Beneath it is the treasure of an older monument dating from 5 century BC.

Monastery of Sopoćani is a magnificent place with it's vivid fresco paintings more than 6 hundred years old.
