Carved from a single limestone block, it stands about 73 meters (240 feet) long and 20 meters (66 feet) high. The Sphinx is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre, who ruled during the 4th Dynasty (c. 2558–2532 BCE).

You can actually go inside, and here’s what to expect on a tour: Inside the Pyramid Experience. • Entrance Passage: After descending a narrow, steep passage, you’ll reach a small chamber that leads to the burial chamber. The corridors are lower than those in Khufu’s pyramid, but they still offer a thrilling, intimate experience of ancient construction. • Burial Chamber: This chamber housed the sarcophagus of King Menkaure (though the sarcophagus itself was lost in a shipwreck in the 19th century). The chamber is relatively simple, with massive granite blocks and a powerful sense of history. • Construction Details: The lower part of the pyramid is made of granite, while the upper sections use limestone. Inside, you can closely see the precision of ancient stonework up close.
