I organized a 5 hour tour for my parents to help them celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Steve. They were able to personalize the tour to their fitness and interests. Waiheke Freedom Tours were a pleasure to interact with, and had clear communication as I made the booking. We had visited Waiheke Island on a wine tasting and dinner tour during our last trip to Auckland and it had been enjoyable. But the island looked to be so lovely we had wanted to see more of it, especially it’s natural beauty. This tour was perfect for that. Steve provides a small, personalised and flexible experience and takes you off road to places not accessible to other tours. He was friendly and knowledgeable and an excellent guide.

Steve gave us a fantastic experience in Waiheke. He met us promptly at the ferry, answered hundreds of our questions, had tons of local knowledge and insight and charm. He obviously enjoys what he does and is proud of his island paradise. We never felt rushed nor neglected. The Man of War beach and wine tasting were off the beaten path (no exaggeration there) but a wonderful experience. He took us to the best ice cream shop on the island and then dropped us off at the Mudbrick winery where we had arranged to dine. But not before touring us through the property so we knew our way around. There were four of us touring and we were comfortable in his SUV. He was very accommodating throughout the day. We would highly recommend Steve. Great value for your money.

Steve our personal guide and owner of Freedomtours was wonderful, very informative, flexible to your personal itinerary. Nothing was too much trouble. Plus he has a nice airconditioned 4×4 to whizz you about Waiheke. I thoroughly reccomend you use him for your next visit to the island.

We planned a day trip to Waiheke Island with Steve, and had a wonderful time. Our desire was to have an individualized itinerary, and to not just visit the wineries or stay on the bus route during our daytrip to Waiheke. We wanted to see as much of the beautiful island as possible, as well as visit several sites along the way. Steve customized the day for exactly what we wanted to see. We loved traveling the road less traveled and learning a locals point of view about the island. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Steve as he diligent and flexible to work with, and will make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Thanks, Steve!

No visit to Waiheke would be complete without a visit to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With views of Great Barrier and Little Barrier Island in the distance, Onetangi Bay has over 1.5 km of beautiful golden sand and we encourage you to take a stroll on the beach here - or even maybe a quick swim!

Man O' War Vineyards

An exciting and scenic drive through Waiheke's farmland takes us to Man O’War vineyards where the tasting room is set back from the beach in beautiful shaded surroundings and offers a range of food and wine tasting experiences. Established in 1993, Man O’ War consists of 150 acres of vines planted in 76 individual hillside blocks. Lunch and wine tasting are available here if you wish, whilst soaking up the views over the bay to the Coromandel coastline surrounded by Pohutakawa trees. www.manowar.co.nz
