I was lucky enough to meet Samar in Luxor, Egypt, one magical day in November 2020. The happy discovery was that she is a tour guide par excellence. I was touring the Valley of the Kings with a word-of-mouth recommended guide - typical deal - his English hard to understand, get a sense of per-recorded hackney spiel repeated by rote. Then my ear caught the sound of practically perfect English with a very engaging, personalized elucidations given to a couple of visitors about this breath-taking ancient Egyptian archeological site. I had to approach. Got Samar's contact and hired her for the remainder of the Luxor stay - two days. Made a whole world of difference. Besides transporting me into the time of the Ramses II, among other pharaohs, with storytelling, we ventured into historical context of what might've caused the rise and fall of this awe inspiring ancient Egyptian culture. Samar gave insights, we explored choices of the time, we got into lost-in-translation moments and we laughed a lot. She arranged for me to visit some local artisans atelier, who work in alabaster and lime stone, through personal contacts. Amazing. Bought artwork direct. I couldn't recommend more Samar to be your guide of choice in unavailing to you the beauty ancient Egypt and the modern.

2 keer in Egypte geweest en na de eerste ervaring met Samar het 2e bezoek weer met haar als gids gedaan! Samar is heel kundig en zorgt goed voor haar bezoekers. Ze is flexibel en zorgt ervoor dat je een onvergetelijk bezoek hebt. Hopelijk ga ik volgend jaar weer naar Egypte en ga zeker weer met Samar op pad!!!
Been to Egypt twice and after our first visit with Samar as the guide, we asked for Samar again the second time. Samar is big in knowledge of all sites and takes great care of her customers. She is flexible and will make sure you have a visit you will remember for the rest of your life. Hopefully I will visit Egypt again next year and I will most certainly plan my sightseeing with Samar!!!

We will always remember the wonderful day we spent with Samar visiting the West bank sites at Luxor.
Samar had told us that we must make an early start but it was well worth it. We crossed the Nile at Dawn with the temple of Luxor silhouetted against the lightening sky. By the time we reached the West bank we were already old friends with our guide!
We went straight to the temple of Hatchepsut to see the sun rise and to our amazement we were the only visitors!
What an extreme luxury to have this beautiful place all to ourselves and to have everything explained so clearly and thoroughly by Samar.
As we were leaving the temple later in the morning we saw all the other tourists arriving and realised how lucky we were.
In fact we felt just as privileged with our exceptional guide throughout the day when we visited the valley of the Kings, the valley of the Nobles and the temple of Ramses III.
As we recrossed the Nile in the late afternoon we felt as if we returning from a voyage into the deep past.
