A total waste of money………Booked night cruise on Danube with credit card and ticket on email but arrived and not on list. We were eventually shown to worst table until one kind waiter moved us upstairs to slightly better one. Food was school canteen standard - say no more. Cruise was an hour on canal and waiting in lock followed by just 45 mins on Danube before another hour in lock/canal. Tour blurb said English guide but there was not one word of information about journey or buildings in any language.

This was a river cruise for tourists. The food/buffet was really terrible. The music was worse. But the time with friends and seeing Vienna from the river was lovely. The lock may have been my favorite part. I suppose I recommend this, but don't imagine it is luxurious or elegant.

First of all, the viator ticket doesn’t get you in the boat. You have to stop at the upstairs ticket office with people barely buying their tickets, and exchange the viator ticket for a real ticket. The boat is nice, has a downstairs and an upstairs and you get assigned to a table. The boat has to wait at the canal exit and entry for a very very long time, and the smell of the engine starts to get to you as you’re waiting to get through to the open river. About 45 min of the tour was sitting there at the canal gate. The music was an accordion player and guitarist playing polkas and folk music. Not really what I expected for Vienna. I was hoping for some relaxing classical music or waltzes. They don’t describe any landmarks or anything to you, you’re just basically listening to the loud polka music the whole time, so then if you go outside, you’re just breathing in a lot of smoke from all the smokers on board. The food was alright. They had chicken fingers and called it schnitzel. To honest I wish I had researched the reviews more. I would have found a shorter tour that describes landmarks, doesn’t serve food, and is non smoking.

The food is really delicious. The music consisted of two vocalist and an accordion player. They were very good however, all the songs were in German. None of the tour information was available in English. The waitstaff were all proficient in English. The tour ended 30 minutes late And the boat did not return to its original point of embarkment, causing me and the other guests to have to walk further to return home and in my case to avoid a long staircase. It was also problematic that this occurred at 11 o’clock at night in marginal neighborhood.

I took the 7 pm cruise, very disappointing. It was too crowded and people were asked to share table with other which is still fine. But when you out 5 people in a table for 4 it kills the joy of the trip that too when you mix 2-3 gps per table. There is option to move to the upper deck. Rude staff at the entry but polite waiters. The dinner was good, so was the Austrian live music. Otherthan that we couldn't wait to end the journey and go back..too boring.

Positive memorable moments were few. As far as the negatives go ,It was a hot night and no air conditioning it was very unpleasant . Singing was way off key. As far as the buffet goes it was very unorganised and took forever to make up a plate .Went back for dessert and hardly anything left . Even got charged for a jug of plain water with ice . Cost $42.00 for 4 cokes and water . Sorry but no recommendations for this activity

Mixed experience. The good: 1) Staff was very nice, spoke multiple languages, and were generally accessible. The bad: 2) Two story boat, tour says is with air-conditioning upstairs - there was none, signs said do not open window or keep doors open, it was over 80 F at least 30 + C, very uncomfortable, 3) No one explained that the music was mainly downstairs only, only places to sit for dinners downstairs, so upstairs got done music later when the musicians walked around - by the time due to no air conditioning we were outside - only those inside had tables downstairs, 4) Seating - a chart should be supplied as we had horrible seats upstairs in no air conditioning with our back to the farthest wall so you could not take decent pictures or see properly - while someone needs to sit there I booked well in advance and would never have chosen those seats, Observations: 5) Musicians were good even though most of what we did hear was through speakers, 6) Food was basic Vienna buffet and there were enough choices so dinner was adequate, 7) We liked going through the locks, 8) Scenery was different than expected and fine for about two hours, three hours was long. Once was enough at this location. If you can pick your seats wisely.

The cruise was great. We arrived to a sea of people and it wasn’t clear as to which boat we were getting on. Please note that if you get an online voucher you have to exchange it at the desk before getting on, this wasn’t clear. Directions to get there were clear. Once on, everyone serving us were polite and all spoke English. The music was lovely, an accordion and guitar for the evening. The food was good, buffet style and what you would expect, a good selection. The drinks were a good value. You will sit next to people from different parties but this didn’t affect us at all as there is places to sit outside and you can move around the boat as much as you like. It was a little chilly outside so bring a coat. I would recommend going in summer so that you can see more going out. Don’t listen to the reviews, the experience was great.
