    After spending several days in the craziness of London, a day in Cambridge was a welcome respite from the noise and chaos. Our Punter Alex L was very knowledgeable about the sites along the river and made the whole experience very enjoyable. We had a shared boat which was perfectly fine. I did see a comment from someone who said to try to go early as the river gets fairly busy in the afternoon and I think this is true as the river was fairly busy for our 2:00 pm tour. However, this did not lessen the enjoyment for us and the Punters try to keep a good distance from the other boats. This tour was the highlight of our day in Cambridge and I would highly recommend it. Lastly, rates seemed to be very negotiable so you can probably find a boat to fit your budget accordingly.

    Bucketlist activity ticked off the list, really enjoyed our punt today! Was good historical commentary, we saw things we wouldnt of seen on foot. Would do it again, might get a private one next time! Only downside was the waiting to get on, was quite chaotic waiting in the small space.

    We booked a shared punting tour for the early evening of July 29 based on other positive reviews, in lieu of a walking tour of the colleges. I expected this to be a perfect ending to our day in Cambridge but, unfortunately, it was far from that. First, the punter gave us exceedingly little information about the colleges, and I could barely hear him. I could hear other punt guides speaking throughout their tours, and they were sharing vastly more information throughout. Second, there was a young family on our punt and, although I love children, it was far from the relaxing experience I had hoped for I to have a 2-3 year old screaming every time she saw a duck (which was pretty much throughout the 45-minute boat ride). This was a waste of money, and I wish I’d booked a University-sponsored walking tour instead of this “boat ride” given this is the only trip we will likely make to this city. Very very poor compared with other “tours” we did in the UK. (Suggestion: It might be helpful to offer “family rides” and separate tours providing a good deal of information about the colleges as separate booking options, so riders get what they sign up for.)

    It’s our first time in Cambridge. We had a wonderful time. Arthur is a fun and professional tour guide. Give him five stars 👍👍👍

    We had a great punting experience on Sunday. It’s a great way to see some of the parts of the city you normally wouldn’t see and Ryan our guide was excellent - extremely knowledgeable and funny. Thank you!

    What to expect

    Magdalene College

    Customers will pass both Magdalene College and Quayside, learning about its history. Customers will also travel under Magdalene Bridge.

    St. John's College

    Customers will go under the Bridge of Sighs, and will pass the 'Wedding Cake Building', formally known as the New Court.

    Trinity College

    Customers will pass both Trinity and Trinity Hall College, seeing the Wren and the Jerwood Libraries. Customers will also pass under Garret Hostel Bridge, the only public foot-bridge along this stretch of river.

    Clare College

    Customers will pass both Clare College and Clare College Gardens, which are on both sides of the river banks, as well as traveling under Clare Bridge.

    King's College

    Customers will pass the world famous King's College Chapel and travel under King's Bridge.

    Queens' College

    Customers will pass and learn about the College, and the Queen's who were its founders, as well as passing under the famous Mathematical Bridge. It is at this point of the journey (at Silver Street Bridge) that the punt will turn and travel back along the river.
