Today was a day of deep exploration and sensory indulgence in Kyoto. From the tranquil gardens of Higashiyama Jisho-ji, also known as the Silver Pavilion. The crisp morning air and the promise of a peaceful start were exactly what I needed. Built in 1482 by Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa as a retirement villa, it later became a Zen temple after his death. The temple is celebrated for its understated elegance, embodying the *wabi-sabi* aesthetic – finding beauty in simplicity and imperfection.
