Our day began, as many good days do, with breakfast at Il Grottino. This charming spot offered a delightful start with its selection of pastries and strong Italian coffee. I always appreciate a good cup of coffee in the morning to get myself going. Lin enjoyed a chocolate-filled croissant, while Mei-Ling opted for a lighter fruit tart. Fueled up, we were ready to tackle the heights of Fortezza Albornoz.

The pizza was delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust and fresh toppings. Lin, of course, opted for Margherita, while Mei-Ling and I shared a pizza with local mushrooms and sausage. It was a satisfying meal that left us feeling energized for the rest of the day.

Mei-Ling found a beautiful hand-painted ceramic bowl, which she purchased as a souvenir. Lin was drawn to a collection of colorful postcards, and she carefully selected a few to send to her friends back in Kelowna. I picked up a small leather-bound journal, hoping to capture my thoughts and reflections on our Urbino adventure.

Lin tried the strozzapreti, a local pasta specialty, while Mei-Ling and I enjoyed the tagliatelle with truffle sauce. It was a memorable meal that perfectly captured the flavors of Urbino.
