Today was a day of contrasts, a perfect blend of adrenaline-pumping adventure and serene natural beauty. Guatapé continues to surprise and enchant us with its diverse offerings. From soaring through the skies to wandering through lush reserves, every moment was a new discovery. I'm excited to share the highlights of our day, filled with breathtaking views and peaceful reflections.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Thai Terrace. Olivia and I enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and fueled up with some delicious Thai-inspired dishes, a surprising but welcome culinary twist in Colombia. It was the perfect start to a day promising adventure.

The main event of the morning was paragliding over Guatapé and San Rafael. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous, but the excitement far outweighed the fear. The team at Parapente en Guatape y San Rafael were professional and reassuring, ensuring we felt safe and prepared. Strapping on the helmet and harness brought back memories of my younger days, always seeking the next thrill. Olivia, ever the supportive partner, squeezed my hand, and we were ready to take to the skies.

As we soared above the stunning landscape, the views were simply breathtaking. The vibrant green mountains, the sparkling lakes, and the colorful town of Guatapé spread out beneath us like a living painting. For a moment, all the worries and stresses of urban planning back in Toronto seemed a million miles away. The feeling of freedom was incredible, a sensation I hadn't experienced in quite some time. Tomorrow, we plan to visit Mirador El Águila for more stunning views, explore the colorful Callejón Julia Pastusa, and stroll along the Malecón de Guatapé. We might even grab a drink at Tiki Taka bar in the evening. I’m looking forward to another day of discovery in this beautiful region.
