Paradise Found: A Day of Island Hopping and Coastal Bliss

Today was one of those days that makes you feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to travel and experience the world's hidden gems. Con Dao has a way of captivating you with its untouched beauty, and Daniel and I were eager to explore more of its secrets. From snorkeling in crystal-clear waters to savoring delicious local cuisine, every moment was a delight. It's amazing how a change of scenery and a slower pace can rejuvenate the soul.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Kwai's Bistro Con Dao. I had read some great reviews online, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The cozy ambiance and the selection of delectable dishes were the perfect way to start the day. I opted for a traditional Vietnamese coffee, which was strong and flavorful, just the way I like it. Daniel went for a full English breakfast, a little taste of home that he sometimes craves when we're away. After breakfast, we set off for our first adventure: a boat trip to Hòn Tre Lớn.

The boat ride itself was an experience. The sea was a mesmerizing shade of turquoise, and the air was filled with the salty scent of the ocean. We spent the morning snorkeling, and the coral reefs were absolutely breathtaking. I've snorkeled in a few places around the world, but the variety of colors and shapes here was truly remarkable. We saw so many different types of fish, from tiny neon-colored ones to larger, more exotic species. Daniel, ever the enthusiastic photographer, was in his element, snapping away with his GoPro. I even managed to capture a few decent shots myself, though I'm definitely still learning the ropes when it comes to underwater photography.

Sometimes, the most profound experiences are found in the simplest of moments, like floating in crystal-clear water, surrounded by the vibrant life of a coral reef.

The beach is surrounded by lush forest, and the sand is soft and white. It was the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. We spent a few hours swimming in the clear waters and lounging on the beach, reading our books. I had brought along a novel by a Vietnamese author, which felt fitting for the location. Daniel, of course, had his head buried in a tech magazine. We're different in so many ways, but that's what makes our adventures together so interesting.

For lunch, we decided to try Nhà hàng Poulo Condore.

After lunch, we took a stroll around the resort grounds, admiring the lush gardens and the stunning views of the ocean. It's definitely a place I'd consider staying at if we ever come back to Con Dao.

I had heard that it was the perfect spot to watch the sunset, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The views were breathtaking, with the sun dipping below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange, pink, and purple. We ordered a couple of cocktails and sat back to enjoy the show. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed, with music playing in the background and people chatting and laughing. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day. Daniel even put his arm around me, something he doesn't always do in public, and whispered, This is what it's all about.

For dinner, we decided to try Yin Yang, a charming eatery run by a German-Vietnamese couple.

It was such a memorable dining experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Con Dao.

As we walked back to our guesthouse, hand in hand, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. Con Dao has a way of slowing you down and reminding you of what's truly important in life. It's a place where you can disconnect from the stresses of modern life and reconnect with nature and with each other. I'm so grateful to be sharing this experience with Daniel. It's moments like these that make our marriage stronger and our bond deeper.

Tomorrow, we're planning to visit Bãi Nhát and Chim Chim cape, two more spots that I've heard are absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see what adventures await us. Until then, goodnight from Con Dao!
