Today felt like stepping directly into the pages of a history book. The day concluded with a delightful exploration of local crafts, a testament to Kyoto's enduring artistic spirit.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at The Cellar Kyoto. The cozy atmosphere and delicious food set the perfect tone for a day of exploration. I savored every bite, feeling grateful for the energy it provided for the adventures ahead. Hans always says I need a good breakfast to keep me going, and he was absolutely right today!

Our first stop was Nijō Castle, a place where the echoes of shoguns resonate through the ages. Built in 1603 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, it served as the Kyoto residence for the Tokugawa shogunate.
