Today was a fantastic blend of adrenaline-pumping adventure and cultural immersion. It’s amazing how quickly this trip is flying by; we only have one day left! Today was all about taking in the sights from a different perspective and diving into the local culture.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Trece Buhos, a charming spot recommended by a local I met yesterday. It was a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away, but the food was worth the search. I opted for a traditional Peruvian breakfast, which fueled me up for the exciting day ahead. The cozy atmosphere was a great way to start the day, and I made sure to thank the staff before heading out. I even managed to practice a bit of my Spanish, which always feels like a small victory!

Next up was Huaraz Zipline Adventures. I have to admit, I was a little nervous, but the views promised to be spectacular, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It was about a 30-40 minute drive from Huaraz. When we arrived, the staff were incredibly professional, ensuring we were all properly equipped and felt safe before we started. The zipline course was nestled in a beautiful canyon with large eucalyptus trees. Soaring through the air, with the Andes Mountains as a backdrop, was an absolutely exhilarating experience. There were multiple ziplines and even a few air bridges. I felt like a bird, gliding effortlessly through the sky. It was an unforgettable way to appreciate the stunning landscape of Huascaran National Park. My friends were screaming with excitement, and I couldn’t help but laugh along with them.

After our ziplining adventure, we were all starving. We headed to Las Lomas - Recreo Club Campestre for lunch. This restaurant offered a relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. It was the perfect place to unwind after our adrenaline-filled morning. The restaurant had a beautiful garden and a picnic area. I enjoyed a hearty meal of local specialties, savoring the flavors of the region. It was a great opportunity to relax and chat with my friends about our ziplining experience. We shared stories, laughed, and relived the thrill of the morning. It’s moments like these that make traveling with friends so special.

In the afternoon, we decided to immerse ourselves in the local culture with a visit to Parque Turístico Entre Cordilleras. I was hoping to see some local wildlife and enjoy the natural beauty of the park. Unfortunately, I couldn't find much information about Parque Turístico Entre Cordilleras, but we decided to visit REGALIA, a local shop, instead. I love finding unique souvenirs to bring back home, and REGALIA seemed like the perfect place to do so. The shop had a variety of clothing. I ended up buying a beautiful alpaca scarf as a gift for my mother and a colorful woven bracelet for Lina. It felt good to support local artisans and bring back a piece of Peru with me.

For dinner, we chose El Fogón, a restaurant known for its traditional Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant had a cozy, old-school vibe. I ordered a local specialty, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, making for a pleasant dining experience. It was the perfect way to end a day filled with adventure and cultural exploration. We reminisced about our favorite moments from the day and made plans for our final day in Huascaran National Park.

As I reflect on today, I’m filled with gratitude for the experiences I’ve had. From soaring through the air on a zipline to immersing myself in the local culture, every moment has been enriching and memorable. Traveling with friends has made this adventure even more special, and I’m grateful for the bonds we’ve strengthened along the way.

Tomorrow is our last day, and we plan to make the most of it. We’re heading to Garita Parque Nacional Huascarán and Lake 69. I’ve heard that Lake 69 is absolutely stunning, and I can’t wait to see it for myself. We’ll also be having breakfast at Ala qué rico, lunch at Callejón restaurante Huaraz, and a farewell dinner at Wayta - El Chef Andino. To cap off our trip, we’ll be visiting Craft Beer House for a final toast to our amazing adventure. I’m sad to leave, but I know that the memories we’ve made here will last a lifetime. I'm already looking forward to sharing stories with Jihad and Lina about my adventures in Peru. Until tomorrow!

The experience today reminded me of the vibrant energy of Zahlé, where I grew up. The mix of adventure and cultural exploration felt similar to exploring the Bekaa Valley, where you could spend the morning hiking and the afternoon enjoying traditional Lebanese cuisine. It’s funny how travel can bring you closer to home, even when you’re thousands of miles away.
